As we begin to look ahead to the 2022 Election, words cannot express how rewarding it has been to have had the honor and privilege of serving as your Sheriff for the past seven years. We have done much and we are committed to continuing along the path of positive change.

I believe Orange County deserves a well trained team of professional law enforcement officers responsive to the needs of those we serve. Through extensive team building and collaborative efforts with our neighboring law enforcement partners, I believe we have accomplished this goal.

I also realized a need to make a positive change in the internal culture of the Sheriff's Office. I knew we must allow our staff to do the jobs they've been trained to do. Empowering each team member to take ownership of their assigned duties immediately increased both their level of commitment and overall job performance.

We wanted to make sure an emphasis was placed on delivering a high level of “Customer Service” and we embraced the philosophy that “Satisfaction” is dangerous. I don't want you to merely be satisfied with our service to you, I want you to be “Amazed”, you deserve nothing less.

We, along with the many service providers within Orange County are charged with providing far more than customer service. On a daily basis we must ensure we deliver services which provide you with the basic needs to live, work, raise a family and age in place with dignity and respect.

By teaching our team members what "great" customer service looks like and holding them accountable for delivering nothing less during each and every interaction has created an environment where great customer service is the new norm. We realize there will be times when we are not able to make everyone happy but it is now the exception rather than the rule.

We have also had very frank discussions with ourselves and those we serve about ways we can each become more accepting of each other. We, in Orange and Chatham Counties, have taken unprecedented steps to create ongoing and positive dialogue of all Criminal Justice stakeholders and our communities to ensure we lead the State in these areas.

We have accomplished much and we pledge to continue to chart a course of positive change committed to providing you with the level of professional service you deserve.

With all that being said, there is much work to be done, we are committed to the challenge, we offer proven leadership and we are ready to serve.

I humbly ask for your continued support, your financial assistance and most importantly, your Vote in 2022.
